Sunday, 2/17/08 through Saturday, 2/23/08

This week's theme was Unexpected Art. I had a horrible time finding pictures to take! My week was strictly filled with everyday life, work and home, work and home. I had at-home things to do in the evenings, such as cleaning, and I didn't go anywhere I don't normally go. Therefore, nothing was unexpected!

So I cheated. I totally, completely cheated with this week's pictures. I didn't even take pictures most days. But on Saturday, I went to the Reagan library with my dad, and took a bunch of photos, which I then went back and used many of for various days of the week. =/ I played by the rules 100% last year; this year? Not so much. Anyway.

February 17th was my little sister's 25th birthday. Happy birthday, Jess!

Because I was so bad at taking pictures this week, this picture was actually taken on 2/24/08 at the Science Center. It just looked kind of birthday-appropriate.

A rather alarming little sign on the lawn at the Reagan library. I think what it was really saying was: Keep Off the Grass.

They have a real Air Force One plane (along with a Marine One, a presidential limo, a few police escorts, and another convoy car, all from the 80's. We got to go onto Air Force One, which was actually pretty cool. It's a lot cushier than good old Coach class! (picture taken 2/23/08)

This little guy came in to get out of the rain, I think. Gen rescued him from our kitchen and the curious noses of cats and set him back outside.

Every year, Dad goes to Las Vegas with a few people from work and clients and such. This year, he flew out here for a few days first! He got in on Friday night.

This picture was actually taken on the 23rd at the Reagan Library. It's a piece of the Berlin Wall, on display on the lawn outside the Library. It's a very pretty piece of the wall!

Saturday, 2/23/08: Oval Office

I'd heard a lot of good things about the Reagan Library. It's close to where I work, so customers are often bringing it up in conversation. I thought Dad might enjoy it, so I took him there. It's a beautiful drive up into the hills of Simi Valley. Even on a somewhat dreary day, the views from the lawns were gorgeous.

There's a display of 80 of Nancy Reagan's dresses, which were quite interesting to look at. The rest of the museum was various pieces of history from during Reagan's presidency. This was a replica of the Oval Office, which I believe is to scale and everything. Didn't actually see any books or documents as I'd assumed the library would house, but it was a nice way to spend an afternoon.
