October, quickly.

A lot has happened in the weeks since I last updated. In fact, I'd venture to say I've been downright, nonstop busy.

It started with going up to Santa Barbara to visit Elaina. We watched In Her Shoes, went mini golfing, and it was good.

The biggest event of the past few weeks, by far, is that Gen moved here. She'll have been in LA two weeks today (hey! That rhymed!). The first week she was here was spent apartment hunting. After looking at about a dozen places, everything started to blend together. But we did manage to find an apartment with the most positives (private patio out back, courtyard with pool out front, lots of kitchen/cabinet space to make my heart go pitter-patter, two parking spaces, things to walk to, and lots of space in general) and few negatives (lack of a dishwasher, only one bathroom). We sign the lease tomorrow. Whoo!

This past weekend was AIDS Walk Los Angeles. It was a huge success! Over $3 million was raised by 25,000 walkers. The walk itself was a little wet and rainy, but it didn't deter anyone. And my fangirly self was excited that Roma Maffia (of Nip/Tuck fame) was one of the presenters. Hee!

On the day of the AIDS walk, I left my house at 7:30 am and got home at 11:00 pm. This has been the way of things lately. If it wasn't apartment hunting, I would go down to Santa Monica to keep Gen company or, like last night, do something else social.

Last night. M, a woman whose blog I've read for a while and who is friends with some of my friends, came to town. Gen and I went down to West Hollywood and met M, along with A (who I'd done the AIDS Walk with) and N (A's neighbor) at a show. A Joe Firstman show.

Oh. My. Goodness. That Joe iis one heck of a performer. It was a fabulous show in a tiny venue and he rocked the house. I'd seen Joe in Chicago about two years ago, and he was wonderful and fabulous, but this was eleven times better. He was spot-on, and even though I didn't know many of the songs (I only have one of his albums), it was amazing. And Tony Lucca was there, too, and he sang with Joe and they were happy and talented and wonderful together.

And this morning, I'm pretty much hating life for having gotten so little sleep, but it was worth it.
