« Happy Birthday, America | Main | Out with a bang... or something like it »

The days go by, and things get better.

Six days of work.

Seventeen days of Illinois residency (six of which to be spent in Washington, DC).

Twenty-six days before I start my new job.

My little heart is beating a bit more nervously lately. It's all coming so fast. I don't have enough time. To pack, to see my friends, to fit in all the things I want to do before I move.

The nerves were bound to set in at some point. It's suddenly so real, so immediate. Before I know it, the car will be packed, I'll have pet the cat one last time, said goodbye to the only house I've ever called home, and I'll be on my way.

Scary? Yes. Exciting? Yes. One part anxiety, one part thrill. I've been looking forward to this for a long time, and it's happening. Maybe not as fluidly as I'd hoped, but it'll fall into place soon enough. *nods*

Kater-patater,

The clock sure is ticking on your time here! I just think you should know that I admire you for taking this leap--so few people are brave enough to drop everything and follow a dream. Most people are happy in mundane jobs, in mediocre relationships, and topped with middle-of-the-road goals. I'm excited that you have decided the shirk the ordinary and chase a dream. Great things are ahead of you!
...but I will miss you...

Hey there Kate

Yes it is winding down eh??? I understand how you feel cause I'm planning to relocate by Jan as well with FedEx at either FL or VA!! And I have no relatives OR friends in either place but I'm planning to just move there for my career, although it's not my dream, but it is my dream to be more independent, I don't feel I can do it here b/c I'll always have a protective family. So I feel that my career will help me do that. Good luck though Kate. I will miss u as well, I regret not spending more time with you, but school asks for lots of demands mostly my time and as well my job. I will miss you though. You'll always be on my mind.
