The Thursday of not being at work...

Man, I really feel like I wasn't at work at all today. I got in at 8, went to the Village (retirement home... we go two Thursdays a month) by 9. Got back at 11, left at 11:30 for a lunch meeting (more on that in a moment). Got back from that around 2, worked on some issues from the morning, and then I was off at 4 today. So all in all, I worked about three and a half hours! Heh.

So the lunch meeting. My first lunch with clients! It was pretty nifty. We went to Meson Sabika in N'ville, which was pretty cool. I can't say I was a fan of the calamari or blood sausage, but I did try it. I would like to go back there sometime and try some other dishes, because there was a lot to choose from. Quite enjoyed the baked goat cheese in tomato cream sauce over garlic bread. YUM. It was a tappas restaurant, where you order a bunch of small dishes and everyone shares. First time I'd done something like that. Neat-o!

So I was pretty excited about the lunch. I learned a lot, too. Good times!

And then tonight, my mom had her Energy Fair. Her kids and another class basically prepared this entire fair, complete with a 6x6x6 Energy House, games, trivia, arts and crafts, science experiments, and a Charlie Brown energy play. It was SO COOL! I was impressed. And the kids were really into it. There was a pretty good turnout from the community. They sold energy-efficient light bulbs, too. Quite a lot of fun.

And now, I'm exhausted. And I will have to watch the Apprentice (which I taped) tomorrow. *yawn*
